What does the brain do when you're dreaming? Although, the precise pathways are complex and escape understanding (for now…), we do know a little about the regions of the brain that experience increased and decreased activity. The yellow regions represented areas of increased brain activity during REM dreaming, and the desaturated regions represent decreased activity.
